Interview:

Hazuki: Okay, let’s start!

H: What’s your name?

Mona: My name is Mona.

H: Okay, I have 10 or more than questions. Have you ever studied abroad? 

M: Yes. I’ve been to Canada twice. First, I stayed there for five months, and when I was    in high school, I went Canada again and stayed there for 10 months. 

H: What is your best way to study English?

M: My best way to study English? That’s a good question.

M: So first watching TV shows on movies and English subtitles, even if you don’t understand that. You just keep watching, and then you can get lot of vocabulary and natural conversation like academic

M: It’s really helpful. Not like speaking with friends from like different countries, and also reading books in English. It’s kind of difficult, but just keep reading. From the book, I think you can get more academic words.

H: Okay, thank you. Do you have recommendation of sight-seeing spot in your hometown

M: In my hometown?

M:  I’m from Kanagawa and I live near the sea,

so I really, I really recommend to come to Zushi beach.  You can see beautiful sunsets. And in summer, there are, like, beach houses. It’s fun.

H: Wow. Sounds grate

H: Maybe you like coffee? Right?

M: Yes 

H: Which stores coffee do you like the most? like best coffee.

M: In Beppu I went to cafe called BYCA. It’s really reasonable. The price is so reasonable, and the coffee was really good. They just hand dripping. It takes a little bit of time, but it’s really good.

H: That’s nice. Thank you.

H: What did you do on your summer vacation?

M: I back home like hold summer vacation, but I went to Australia to see my friend. That’s it.

How was your Australia trip? 

M: It was really nice, like it was my first time throughout there, and I really missed my friend, so it was really good, but everything was so expensive. Just was like 600$ for a bottle of water, so I’m broke.

H:  haha Okay.

H: If you do like some assignment in this campus, where will you do?

M: I usually go to Greencomons. It’s really crowded, so I like going to library because it’s quiet. You cannot drink like water, but you can concentrate.

H: Okay, thank you. And what is your hobby?

M: My hobby?

M: I love going to onsen. like since I came here, I go to onsen with my friend. A lot, yeah,

H: Please tell me the best onsen!

M: My favorite onsen is Kisekinoyu in Knnawa. It’s near Jikoku Meguri and it’s like calm, like chill, quiet, and there are like many people there, so it’s so nice

 H: Not big?

M: Not big but, Rotenburo, you can just relax and really nice there.

H: Do you have like winter vacation’s plane?

M: My winter vacation? Not, yet. I started part time job, so it depends

H: You started?

M: yeah, I just started.

H: Where?

M: First one is Oita city, like wedding, but there were so many rules, and I don’t know if I continue. And the second one, McDonald’s, when I was in high school, I used to work there.  So, maybe I will apply. 

H: So do you want to study abroad, and which country do you want to

M: Yes, I want to study abroad, probably I want to a Europe, not English countries, because I’ve already been to Canada twice, so I want to do, I want to go like the country, different countries

H: So, you haven’t decided.

Mona: I haven’t decided what country.

H: Why you choose Canada? Because you can choose like another country.

M: Yes, ummm. I went there for five months first, and after I came back to Japan, like covid was, like, just like started, and so I wanted to go to New Zealand, but I couldn’t go. So I decided to go to Canada again, because I already know how it’s like so and I really, I really liked it. So that’s why I went to Canada twice again.

 H: What Canada’s food do you like?

M: To be honest, Canadian food is not that very good, yeah, and we don’t. I think Canada doesn’t have typical like Canadian food, but this food called putti, it’s like gravy sauce on, like, top of French rice and there’s, like, cottage cheese, you know, like small cheese on top. It’s ok.

H: Nice! thank you 

H: How was your high school?

M: My high school? I had a really good time, but I don’t want to go back to because.

I was, like struggling with, like, relationship with my friends, like girls’ friends, because I was in same class for three years

H: Oh, really? No change?

M: yeah, no change, not no change. So, there were like, only 23 students, so we got very close, boys and girls. We got really close together, but among girls, no like,

yeah, I don’t know why, but the like, we separate, and there were like two girls’ group,

H: like messed up?

M: yeah, messed up. But we didn’t, like, argue, or we didn’t find it just, like,

H: atmosphere is like,

M: yeah, we don’t talk too much. And the boys were like, what’s going on, I don’t know. Like, I still don’t know why that happened. Because at first, we were very close. We went out

 I don’t know, it gets worse.
